Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia: 26 April 2026

The Malaysian Society of Allergy and Immunology (MSAI) held a World Allergy Training School (WATS) in Kuala Lumpur on 26 April during their annual congress.

WATS is part of the World Allergy Organization’s (WAO) Emerging Societies Program (ESP), with the objective to develop learning communities appropriate to a specific regional context while strengthening existing knowledge and skills for treating all allergic diseases. The WATS are made possible through the support of WAO and the American College of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology (ACAAI).

The international WATS faculty included allergy experts from the United States, Republic of Korea, Egypt, and Indonesia. Dr. Mervat Nassef (United States), Prof. Elham Hossny (Egypt), and Prof Yoon-Seok Chang (Republic of Korea), and Prof. Niken L. Poerbonegoro (Indonesia) participated in this WATS alongside the local organizer from the MSAI, Prof. Salina Husain.

About 60 individuals attended the WATS and the program included a mix of lectures on a variety of topics and hands-on workshops.
