About the Center: The Centre is a part of the Vallabhbhai Patel Chest Institute (VPCI) in Delhi, a unique postgraduate medical institution devoted to research, teaching, and patient care in the field of chest diseases. Mission The primary objectives and mission of the NCRAAI include:
- Improving allergy care for the community through research, education, and training.
- Fulfilling the national need to provide relief to a large number of patients in the community suffering from respiratory allergy.

The Centre's research and clinical interests focus on the etiologic significance and management of respiratory allergic disorders. Key areas of interest include:
- Aeroallergens: Identifying clinically important local inhalant allergens in the environment, such as pollen, fungi, insects, algae, and dust.
- Food Allergens: Studying the role of dietary allergens and food intolerance in patients with bronchial asthma and other respiratory diseases.
- Occupational Allergy: Investigating allergies in various occupational settings (e.g., farmers, sugar mill workers, cotton mill workers).
- Quality Control of Allergens: Developing and standardizing allergen extracts for diagnosis and immunotherapy.
- Indoor Air Pollution: Studying the effects of indoor air pollution on respiratory function and asthma exacerbation in children.
- Immunotherapy: Researching diagnostic and therapeutic aspects of immunotherapy (allergen specific sublingual and other types) for respiratory allergies.
