Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia: 22 June 2018
With the expert guidance and organizational skills of Professor Munkhbayarlakh of Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, the World Allergy Organization and the ACAAI held a one-day World Allergy Training School (WATS) 22 June, 2018, Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. WAO faculty consisted of John Oppenheimer, MD, Sami Bahna, MD, and Dana Wallace, MD who presented lectures and workshops on immunotherapy/skin testing; asthma/ spirometry; food allergy, drug allergy, anaphylaxis, and skin allergies/patch testing. The workshop assistant (and volunteer photographer) was Ralph "Gene" Cash, PhD. There were 45 attendees from Mongolia, Inner Mongolia ROC, and the Republic of Buryatia of the Russian Federation. Throughout the day and evening during formal lectures, informal workshops, social breaks, and concluding with a celebration dinner, attended by participants, faculty, Mongolian Society of Allergology members, and local organizers, it was truly an educational and enjoyable event. Many participants expressed their sincere appreciation and their dedication to stay engaged by attending all 8 hours! They all demonstrated a quest for more knowledge.
